چکیده
We have synthesized Eu-doped NaBi(MoO 4 ) 2 nanoparticles functionalized with PAA whose properties make them excellent multimodal contrast agents for X-ray computed tomography and luminescent bioimaging, as illustrated using a C. Elegans animal model.

Poly(iohexol) nanoparticles as contrast agents for in vivo X-ray computed tomography imaging.
Biocompatible poly(iohexol) nanoparticles, prepared through cross-linking of iohexol and hexamethylene diisocyanate followed by coprecipitation of the resulting cross-linked polymer with mPEG-polylactide, were utilized as contrast agents for in vivo X-ray computed tomography (CT) imaging. Compared to conventional small-molecule contrast agents, poly(iohexol) nanoparticles exhibited substantiall...
متن کاملGold nanoparticles as contrast agents in x-ray imaging and computed tomography.
Computed tomography enables 3D anatomic imaging at a high spatial resolution, but requires delivery of an x-ray contrast agent to distinguish tissues with similar or low x-ray attenuation. Gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) have gained recent attention as an x-ray contrast agent due to exhibiting a high x-ray attenuation, nontoxicity and facile synthesis and surface functionalization for colloidal stab...
متن کاملFunctionalized Gold Nanoparticles as Damage-specific X-ray Computed Tomography Contrast Agents in Bone Tissue
By Ryan D. Ross The accumulation of microdamage has been linked to clinical bone fragility and increased fracture susceptibility. Damage is normally repaired by a cellular remodeling process. However, a fracture may occur if damage accumulates faster than it can be repaired. Current methods for imaging microdamage are inherently invasive, destructive and two-dimensional. The development of a ta...
متن کاملLanthanide nanoparticles as vascular contrast agents for preclinical computed tomography
Introduction: Recent advances in nanotechnology have led to the development of vascular contrast agents for preclinical computed tomography (CT). The advantage of using nanoparticles is the ability to achieve prolonged residence times for preclinical CT, which can take tens of minutes; this is attained by polymer-coated nanoparticles exceeding 10 nm in size. Although long-circulating nanopartic...
